Maharashtra Police Constable Recruitment
15,631 posts, no negative marking, and a paper split into four equal quarters — the physical test comes first.
What this exam is
One of the largest single recruitment drives in the state: 15,631 posts across Police Constable, Constable Driver, SRPF, Bandsman and Prison Constable, notified in late October 2025 with applications running to the end of December. Recruitment is organised district and unit-wise rather than as one central merit list, so where you apply shapes what you are competing against.
The written exam is a single 100-question paper in 90 minutes, one mark each, with no negative marking and a 40% qualifying bar. It divides into four exact quarters of 25 questions: general knowledge and current affairs, arithmetic, Marathi grammar, and an intellectual or reasoning test. Nothing is weighted more than anything else, which makes this an unusually even paper — you cannot carry a weak section on the strength of another.
About 43% of the general knowledge topics are Maharashtra-specific, and the Marathi grammar section is a full quarter of the paper. The physical test comes before the written stage, not after, so candidates are eliminated on ground and track before a single question is answered.

MH Police Constable — frequently asked

Maharashtra Police Constable Recruitment is conducted by Maharashtra Police (mahapolice.gov.in), district and unit-wise.
When is the next MH Police Constable exam?
The 2025-26 drive is well past its application stage, with the physical tests and written exam following through 2026. Reporting placed the written exam around May 2026 but we could not confirm on an official source that it was held then, so it is shown as expected rather than past. Because recruitment runs district and unit-wise, schedules differ between units and a single statewide exam date is not always meaningful.

Honesty note: Adversarial verify pass pending (agent budget) — both question keys manually re-solved and confirmed. The four-section structure, the 100-question 90-minute format and the Maharashtra weighting come from a syllabus audit held in the AvM backend repository, which notes two caveats of its own: section labels differ across sources ('Marathi Grammar' versus 'Marathi Language', 'Intellectual Test' versus 'Reasoning'), and some unit notifications weight the sections differently, with 25/25/25/25 being the standard baseline rather than a universal rule. The absence of negative marking is reported by most sources but was not confirmed against an official notification PDF in this pass. The written exam date is the weakest item here: reporting suggested around May 2026, no official confirmation was found, and it is therefore marked expected. Because recruitment is district and unit-wise, a single statewide schedule may not exist. Applicant counts, cutoffs and previous-cycle results were not found and are shown as unknown. The height and chest standards vary by category and gender and are not reproduced here.
